What has been your inspiration for a career in Public Relations and Marketing?

Working for a startup teaches you to wear a lot of different hats. I was the only marketing person, and I couldn’t grow as much as I desired. I wanted to learn from the best in the field and improve my skills at Marketing Works.

What has been your biggest challenge so far?

My biggest challenge so far was the uniqueness of working for a startup company. There are only so many people there, so you have to teach yourself a lot of things. I had to teach myself programming, graphic design and html, among other things. There’s a lot of strategy and trial and error, and that can be difficult.

What is your biggest accomplishment thus far?

I am most proud of the first article I ever got published as a marketing and PR professional. It was a cover story featuring one of our customer, and it was a result of my initiative.

Who inspires you the most?

I am most inspired by the innovators, the people that go out on their own, take risks, yet reach success. I aspire to do the same thing, so that type of person is very inspirational to me.

When you were younger, what were your career aspirations?

When I was younger, I wanted to be a singer. I thought for sure I would be on Broadway. In high school, I wanted to be a journalist. AS a journalism major at NYU, I wrote a piece about consumer behavior and was fascinated by the subject, so I decided to switch my focus to strategic communications..

What actress would you pick to play you in a movie, and why?

I would choose Kristen Wiig to play me in a movie. I think she’s hilarious, and I’d like to think that I am that funny.

Who is your favorite author?

David Sedaris

What is your favorite quote?

‘Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions” –Albert Einstein

Would you ever want to be famous?

I would never want to be super famous. I would like my ideas or effects to be famous, but not necessarily myself. I guess I would like to be anonymously famous.

What is the scariest thing you have ever done?

I am absolutely terrified of spiders, and one time, no one was home, so I had to kill a spider myself. I had to do it so I knew it was dead and not crawling around my house somewhere.

What is your best quality?

I would say my best quality is that I always try to put others first.

What is your dream job?

My dream job would either be to have a talk show or be an explorer. I want to be one of those people that make discoveries around the world. I think being able to travel and uncover some sort of ancient artifact would be awesome.

Do you have any personal or professional advice?

Be yourself and never think that you can’t accomplish something. If you believe in yourself, you can accomplish anything you want. Never limit yourself.
