Client Spotlight: Wireless

Wireless, a Verizon Wireless Premium Retailer, has worked hard to become one of Verizon’s top dealers, and there is no slowing down in the near future.

Founded in 2001 by Shawn Cunix, Wireless began as a single store with a handful of employees. Since then it has expanded to a chain of nearly 60 stores with 200+ employees. Wireless now has stores throughout Ohio (with its headquarters in Columbus), as well as numerous locations in the Midwest and in Florida. Recently, Wireless has made branding a top priority, and Marketing Works developed plans for both Shawn Cunix’s personal branding and for the branding of the company itself.  Marketing Works recently facilitated a branding workshop with Wireless’ management team, who defined the company’s “Why” as “Inspire Happiness,” and its core values are Performance, Empowerment, Integrity, Community, and Family. 

 Cunix started as a business-to-business sales executive for Verizon Wireless; however, he longed to be independent and in charge of something greater. He utilized the skills he learned as an executive and launched a new career as the owner of Wireless. By employing high standards of customer satisfaction and quality service, Cunix has built a hugely successful brand, something most entrepreneurs only dream of. In his spare time, Cunix is a world-ranked poker player, who draws several parallels between the sport and the game of business.  Since its inception, Wireless has earned the prestigious ‘Premium Retailer Award’ and was named “Agent of the Year” for the Ohio/Pennsylvania Region in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.  For more information, please visit
