Account Manager |

SUMMARY
The AM will be responsible for day-to-day project management for one or several clients. The AM will guide teams in developing unique and creative solutions that meet client needs, expectations and budgets and will be responsible for cultivating strong client relationships that result in repeat business. AM’s have major input in helping develop strategic marketing plans for their clients. After the plan has been developed and presented to the client, the AM has the responsibility of carrying the plan out on a daily basis. |
- Leads project management process by being proactive/responsible to client and internal teams.
- Formulates project objectives, strategies and tactics and communicates these to internal project team and client.
- Assists with the marketing plan development process.
- Receives client briefings. Fills out Client Contact Reports for all client meetings and distributes to appropriate agency personnel. Quickly and accurately relays client changes to all appropriate agency personnel.
- Works with team to schedule and prioritize projects and maintain efficient project flow to ensure all deadlines are being met.
- Leads client presentations, concept reviews and other meetings.
- Seeks out new business opportunities within existing accounts and plays a leading role in their development
- Accurately tracks and records all billable and non-billable time. The AM is responsible to the bottom line of the company by billing approximately 75% of their time on a monthly basis.
- Participates in weekly traffic meetings, quarterly company meetings and all retreats.
- Represents the agency at industry functions, promotes the agency at every opportunity and is fully familiar with agency credentials and specialties.
- Gives performance reviews to direct reports.
- Manages one or more direct reports.
- Involved in the hiring process for account managers and account coordinators.
- Responsible for professionally developing all direct and non-direct reports of account management staff.
- Meets with senior management once per month.
- Seeks out educational opportunities for self and account staff.
- Manages all appropriate members of the Account Service group
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 – 5 years experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with daily client contact and other persons involved in daily workflow.
- Office environment
- Mostly local travel (must have vehicle)
- Occasional travel within US only

PR Manager
SUMMARY
The PRM is responsible for leading the implementation of public relations activities for the agency and its clients. A critical component of this position is to develop written communications on behalf of agency clients. |
Account Management
- Manages the execution of a wide range of public relations initiatives on behalf of the agency and select clients. These can include, but not be limited to, media relations, association relations, event planning, employee relations, customer relations, etc.
- Creates written communications, such as: press releases, by-line articles, speeches, program reports, corporate messaging, web content, etc. as necessary for implementation of all public relations plans for clients.
- Understands the interests of a wide range of audiences and has the ability to tailor messages and communication vehicles to effectively reach those audiences.
- Oversees the implementation of effective media relations campaigns by developing appropriate pitches or angles for media relations and forging relationships with editors and reporters to maximize coverage opportunities.
- Contributes strategic public relations thinking to existing and potential client programs. Provides sound public relations counsel to agency clients.
- Demonstrates effectiveness of public relations activities through the delivery of client presentations and reports, as needed.
- Proactively seeks opportunities for favorable media coverage, brand awareness, integrated communications, etc. that will ultimately benefit agency clients.
Client Management
- Serves as day-to-day client contact for public relations accounts.
- Leads implementation of public relations plans for agency clients.
- Identifies new business opportunities from existing clients.
- Responsible for preparing client contact reports and communicating regularly with clients.
- Reviews client invoices and supports office manager in their preparation.
- Provides DCS with overview of clients’ current activities, plans and future developments.
- Assists with business development activities as needed.
- Accurately tracks and records all billable and non-billable time. The PRM is responsible to the bottom line of the company by billing approximately 85% of their time on a monthly basis.
- Participates in weekly traffic meetings, quarterly company meetings and all retreats.
- Follows and helps enforce standards for department in areas of processes, internal/external reports, systems and work flow.
- Represents the agency at industry functions; promotes the agency at every opportunity.
- Participates in new business presentations when requested.
- Seeks out educational opportunities for self.
- Manages PR Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, public relations, journalism, corporate or marketing communications.
- 5+ years experience in journalism, public relations, journalism, corporate or marketing communications.
Communication and Language Skills
- Sophistication, flexibility and versatility in writing style. The ability to write clearly and effectively on deadline and quickly grasp and simplify complex or technical information for intended audiences with accuracy.
- Proven superior writing skills. Advance copies of published work and stellar performance on an agency writing test required of candidates wishing to be considered.
- Confidence, integrity and professionalism necessary to represent the agency to its client(s).
Additional Skills
- The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment.
- An articulate, friendly, “whatever-it-takes” attitude, along with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent PC skills, specifically Microsoft Office. Experience with media tools preferred.
- Office environment
