We get it. We do what it takes. We do the right thing. We care: these are our core values that serve as a framework for everything we do here. While we can talk about these values all day, let’s focus on just one: we care. This can mean a myriad of things to any individual, but for us, it ignites our passion to be a conduit to success for everyone we touch. One of these areas is the value of giving back to our community. And one way we were able to do that was to help promote the 5th Annual Project Blues event.
Project Blues is a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise funds-to connect with people impacted by cancer with resources that can help them through the LifeCare Alliance Columbus Cancer Clinic. Project Blues is the brainchild of one of our clients, Mike Berichon, whose sister died of breast cancer. Mike was so moved by her situation that he created this organization so others may not have to suffer as she did. Every $90 raised provides a free mammogram for a woman in need.
Like in previous years, this year’s Project Blues was a two-day event and featured Blues musicians from across the country at the LifeCare Alliance facility near downtown Columbus. Headliners included Jonn Richardson Band, The Texas Horns, and Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets. The night before the full-day event, the clinic shuttled hundreds of patients, families and clients to the venue for a private dinner and blues concert. The next day, patrons enjoyed a full day of live music and various auctions, including signed merchandise and guitars from the musicians.
Although we played a part in putting Project Blues together, we didn’t do it by ourselves. Mike put together a great group of people that was able to make this event happen. Our part here was to provide direction on how to implement Mike’s vision by aiding the promotion of this inspiring event. With all of these efforts in mind, we are pleased to be a part of putting together another Project Blues and are more than willing to do so again in the years to come.
